Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Microdermabrasion.

During your first Microdermabrasion session we cleanse the skin, gently exfoliate using a crystal or diamond tip device, then calm and hydrate. Sessions typically last 30 to 45 minutes and feel like light abrasion with minimal discomfort and immediate brightness.

Microdermabrasion can suit many skin types, including mild acne-prone skin, but sensitive or rosacea-prone complexions may require gentler settings or alternatives. A consultation determines suitability, and we tailor intensity to minimize irritation while improving texture.

Most clients see noticeable improvement after three to six Microdermabrasion sessions spaced two to four weeks apart. Results build with repeated treatments; periodic maintenance sessions help preserve smoother texture, brightness, and long-term skin health.

Common side effects include temporary redness, mild sensitivity, and slight dryness or flaking. These usually resolve within a few hours to a few days. Avoid sun exposure and use SPF; contact us if prolonged irritation, swelling, or unusual symptoms occur.

Prepare by avoiding strong retinoids, glycolic acids, and waxing for at least five to seven days before Microdermabrasion. Arrive with clean skin, disclose medications or recent treatments, and maintain hydration and sun protection pre-appointment.

You can usually wear makeup about twenty-four hours after Microdermabrasion; light mineral coverage is recommended initially. Avoid heavy foundations and potent actives for several days. Focus on gentle moisturizers and broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect and support healing skin.
